Julia Cox is an experienced criminal practitioner with a busy Crown Court practice. She is a Grade 4 Prosecutor and member of the Rape and Serious Sexual Offences (RASSO) Panel.
Julia is instructed regularly to prosecute and defend in cases involving serious violence, serious sexual offences, fraud, money laundering and organised crime.
Julia’s meticulous case preparation and attention to detail has led to instructions in high-value and complex matters, including multi-handed conspiracies and historic sexual abuse trials involving multiple complainants. She is particularly skilled at handling vulnerable defendants and witnesses, and is known for her calm, clear communication throughout the trial process.
Julia has significant experience of dealing with cases where there are issues of fitness to plead and stand trial or where psychiatric evidence needs to be considered.
Julia has over ten years’ experience in regulatory law and is regularly instructed by local authorities in prosecutions involving food safety, environmental law, statutory nuisance and health and safety breaches. She is experienced in licensing enforcement and POCA proceedings.
Julia previously worked in a solicitors firm, gaining valuable insight into the needs of both professional and lay clients.
