Regulatory & Inquiries

30 Park Place has a long-standing tradition in all aspects of regulatory law. Members of the group are regularly instructed to prosecute and defend in consumer law, including trading standards and trademark offences. Due to our close proximity to Companies House (all prosecutions being commenced and heard in Cardiff) we have developed significant expertise in all aspects of proceedings arising out of breaches of company law, in particular dealing with directors disqualifications. Chambers has also been involved in many of the most high profile food safety prosecutions in South Wales. Members of the team regularly represent prosecution and defendants in HSE matters, including charges of manslaughter.

In addition the team has experience in the following areas of regulatory law;

  • Disciplinary panels for health care professionals
  • Environmental law
  • Health & Safety law
  • Licensing
  • Food safety (including licensing of abattoirs)
  • Noise nuisance
  • Breaches of planning law
  • Unlicensed street trading
  • Animal welfare
  • Operator’s licence for goods vehicles
  • Inquiries

Over many years, members of Chambers have appeared in numerous high profile and complex inquiries representing all parties within such proceedings. Members of the team have broad experience across a variety of practice areas that complement the needs and expectations of those who instruct us in such matters.
