Huw Davies qualified as a barrister in the UK in 1998 and has since built a legal career spanning both the UK and Qatar. With a broad and versatile practice, Huw is experienced in employment law, regulatory frameworks, corporate governance, commercial contracts and construction-related matters. Huw has undertaken several workplace related investigations and advised organisations regarding safeguarding and disciplinary matters; and is a member of the WRU Safeguarding Panel. He provides strategic advice and representation to individuals, clubs, and organizations on a wide range of matters, including reviewing corporate and operational strategies, policies, and procedures.
Huw spent a decade in Qatar, where he advised a wide range of governmental bodies, multinational corporations, and private enterprises. He played a key role in developing and securing commercial contracts and regulatory frameworks, being known for translating complex legal and compliance requirements into clear, practical, and actionable solutions.
A passionate advocate for alternative dispute resolution (ADR), Huw is committed to helping parties explore constructive pathways to resolving conflict. He is a frequent author on topics such as dispute resolution strategies, effective relationship management, and governance. He represents clients and also serves as an arbitrator and mediator across a broad spectrum of disputes; known for his pragmatic, solution-oriented approach, he has earned a reputation for “finding a corner in a round room,” a reflection of his strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
Huw is direct access qualified, an accredited commercial mediator with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb), and serves on the panels of several prominent institutions including the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the Qatar Chamber of Commerce, Sport Resolutions, and the International Court of Dispute Resolution Centre Qatar (Mediation).
