Paul is a very experienced and busy criminal law specialist barrister based in Cardiff and South Wales. Paul has conducted numerous trials and hearings in Crown Courts in all fields of criminal law from murder to minor cases. If you need representation or simple advice you will find Paul to be passionate, sincere, and highly professional.

Paul was born and brought up in Melbourne, Australia, before moving to South Wales. He studied the University of London LL.B law degree through Swansea Law School and then undertook the Legal Practice Course at Cardiff University.

After qualifying, Paul worked with well-known South Wales firms such as  John Collins and Partners and Ivor Evans and Benjamin, undertaking a mixture of civil cases including personal injury, general civil cases, commercial and property litigation.

Paul has a keen interest in sport, particularly those Aussie favourites: rugby, cricket and surfing. He is a member of Lisvane Cricket Club, Cardiff and is a qualified cricket umpire and member of the ECB ACO panel of cricket officials.

  • Crime

    In 2006, Paul joined the CPS, rising to Senior Crown Prosecutor and was called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in 2010. Paul has extensive knowledge and experience of criminal law and has prosecuted and defended cases of:

    Fraud, burglary, theft, robbery, rape (including allegations of historic offending), murder, manslaughter, all types of violent offences and cases  involving dangerous driving and other road traffic offences.

    Paul has a detailed understanding of the criminal justice system and prides himself on providing a dedicated first class service for his clients, including written and verbal advice on the law and practice.
