Oliver Harris

Practice Overview

Oliver joined 30 Park Place following the successful completion of his pupillage in September 2017.

Oliver has developed a busy mixed practice and accepts instructions in all areas of Family and Civil, as well as regularly appearing in the Immigration and Employment Tribunals.

Oliver studied Law at Durham University before attending Cardiff University to complete a Master’s degree in Law. Oliver remained in Cardiff to complete the Bar Professional Training Course.

Prior to the commencement of pupillage Oliver worked as a support worker for young adults with autism and as a paralegal in a Nursing Care Department where he represented clients at NHS Review Panels.

Oliver is noted for his personable approach and sensitive manner with vulnerable clients. He is driven to secure the best possible outcome and to ensure his client’s voice is heard.

Away from work Oliver is a keen sportsman and currently holds welsh swimming records.

  • Family

    Oliver has extensive experience acting for local authorities, parents and children’s guardians at all stages of public law proceedings. He has acted in cases involving significant neglect, domestic violence and sexual abuse. Oliver has also acted on behalf of local authorities in cases involving designated local authority arguments.   

    Oliver has become popular in private practice and acts for both mothers and fathers in cases involving relocation, allegations of adult and child sexual abuse, domestic violence, implacably hostile parents and issues relating to the child’s religion. In addition to this, Oliver has acted on behalf of Rule 16.4 Guardians and in matters involving applications for occupation and non-molestation orders.

    Oliver accepts instructions in matrimonial finance matters following relationship breakdown and continues to develop his practice in this area

  • Personal Injury

    Oliver has a thriving practice acting for both claimants and defendants in Fast Track and Small Claims trials. He is comfortable acting in claims across the personal injury spectrum and prepared to draft particulars, advise on liability and act under a Conditional Fee Agreement.

    Oliver is pleased to accept instructions for regulatory matters, inquiries and inquests.
