Mark Cotter Q.C. secures manslaughter conviction following trial based on circumstantial evidence

October 17 2019

Mark Cotter Q.C. has secured the conviction of Andrew Tudor Jones, following an eight day trial in Swansea Crown Court.  Mr. Jones was tried for the manslaughter of his partner, Frederic Pallade.  On the 17th April 2019, Mr. Pallade fell from the edge of his front garden, where there is a very steep drop, and suffered a fatal head injury.  It was alleged that the fall was as a result of an assault by Mr. Jones upon Mr. Pallade.  There were no witnesses to the alleged assault and the case was built purely on circumstantial evidence including witnesses as to the aftermath, forensic at the scene (including DNA), footprint evidence and pathology.
