Oliver Harris

Practice Overview

Oliver joined 30 Park Place following the successful completion of his pupillage in September 2017.

Oliver has developed a busy practice, primarily in family law. Oliver represents Local Authorities, parents and Children’s Guardians. He acts in cases involving non accidental injuries, neglect, sexual abuse, domestic abuse and contact disputes.

Oliver is noted for his personable approach and sensitive manner with vulnerable clients. He is driven to secure the best possible outcome and to ensure his client’s voice is heard.

Oliver studied Law at Durham University before attending Cardiff University to complete a master’s degree in Law. Oliver remained in Cardiff to complete the Bar Course.

Away from work Oliver is a keen sportsman and currently holds Welsh and British swimming records.

  • Family

    Oliver has extensive experience acting for Local Authorities, parents and Children’s Guardians at all stages of public law proceedings, including complex findings of fact. Oliver has also acted on behalf of Local Authorities in cases involving designated authority arguments and in cases involving DoLS.  

    In private practice Oliver acts for both mothers and fathers in cases involving relocation, allegations of adult and child sexual abuse, domestic violence, implacably hostile parents and issues relating to the child’s religion. In addition to this, Oliver has acted on behalf of Rule 16.4 Guardians and in matters involving applications for occupation and non-molestation orders.
