“Catching a Crime Boss” – BBC Documentary on Operation Mayland
Daniel Jones, leading Solomon Hartley, prosecuted Operation Mayland, a major investigation by Gwent Police into the supply of cocaine and heroin in Newport.
Following a 6 week trial at the end of 2024, a second trial in April 2025 and a 2 day sentencing hearing in early September 2025, 4 members of the OCG were sentenced to a total of more than 50 years’ imprisonment (news report here).
The BBC have now released a documentary on the case which is available to watch on iPlayer.
