Samuel Shepherd is a specialist family practitioner, with a particular expertise in public law care proceedings. He has a wide experience acting for all parties including local authorities, parents, interveners and guardians.
He is regularly instructed in complex cases including those featuring serious non-accidental injuries, allegations of serious abuse, mental health issues, learning difficulties and teenage parents. He is adept at working with young and vulnerable clients and is frequently instructed by guardians in public and private children cases.
He has a calm and measured approach, and is instructed in both public and private law children cases as well as financial remedy proceedings. He is known for his clarity with clients, effective advocacy and commitment to thorough preparation, particularly in emotionally sensitive and contested matters.
Samuel joined 30 Park Place in 2014 as a pupil and in 2015 as a tenant. Prior to joining chambers Samuel worked as Crown Counsel at the Attorney General’s Office in Belize in Central America and Field Fisher LLP in London.
