Mikhael Puar is a civil and public law barrister with a wide-ranging practice spanning personal injury, employment, clinical negligence, chancery, professional discipline, and inquests.
He joined 30 Park Place in 2009, having completed pupillage and early practice in Swansea. A fluent Welsh speaker, he regularly conducts cases in Welsh.
Mikhael is frequently instructed in personal injury matters, including road traffic claims, employers’ liability, public liability, and occupier’s liability, with a particular interest in occupational disease. His coronial work includes complex inquests involving state bodies.
In employment law, Mikhael is experienced in acting for both Claimants and Respondents in tribunal proceedings and the Employment Appeal Tribunal. He has a particular interest in unfair dismissal and discrimination cases, and regularly provides training on employment issues. He also undertakes professional disciplinary work, often appearing before the NMC and GMC tribunals.
His broader civil practice includes contract disputes, costs, housing matters, and credit hire claims. Prior to coming to the Bar, Mikhael gained practical insight from working on both sides of personal injury litigation, and spent time supporting death row appeals in the United States.

Mikhael represents both Claimants and Respondents in employment tribunals and the EAT. He handles unfair dismissal, discrimination, redundancy, and equal pay disputes, and regularly delivers training on employment law.
Mikhael has extensive experience in inquests, particularly those involving public bodies. He is frequently instructed in Article 2 and jury inquests, providing clear and sensitive advocacy for families and interested persons.
