Lloyd Williams KC is one of the most experienced and respected Silks in Wales, known for his work in complex personal injury, clinical negligence, police actions and inquiries. His practice focuses primarily on catastrophic injury litigation involving brain and spinal trauma, often acting for protected parties and vulnerable clients.

Lloyd brings a calm authority to his cases. His approach is centred around client care, building confidence, offering clarity and ensuring seriously injured clients and their families feel fully supported throughout the process. He is known for his collaborative style, often working with senior juniors at 30 Park Place to provide clients with continuity, efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Lloyd has appeared in many high-profile cases, including inquests into deaths in custody and industrial disasters. He is highly experienced in actions against the police and has represented both claimants and six police authorities in more than forty jury trials.

In every case, Lloyd’s focus is on achieving the best possible outcome, whether that means evening consultations, home visits, or hands-on involvement with medical experts, deputies and the Court of Protection.

Expertise

Lloyd has acted in matters involving police misconduct and has represented both claimants and police authorities. His work includes assault, malicious prosecution and false imprisonment claims. He brings balance, courtroom experience and an understanding of public authority duties to this specialist area.

Lloyd is instructed regularly in high-value clinical negligence claims, particularly those involving birth injury, delayed diagnosis and catastrophic neurological harm. Many of his clients lack capacity and require support from deputies and the Court of Protection. He is praised for his sensitive handling of complex medical and evidential issues.

Lloyd has appeared in many inquests, including those concerning industrial accidents, deaths in custody and public interest incidents. He is trusted by families, public bodies and professional clients to deliver measured, expert advocacy in highly sensitive and complex proceedings. His inquest experience underpins much of his broader civil and regulatory work.

Personal injury forms the core of Lloyd’s practice. He specialises in catastrophic cases involving brain and spinal injuries and regularly secures multi-million-pound settlements. He is known for his client-first approach, forensic preparation, and ability to coordinate large litigation teams, including experts, solicitors and support professionals.
