Kevin Seal is a highly experienced criminal barrister, whose practice is exclusively defence-focused. With deep expertise in serious and complex crime, he is regularly instructed in cases involving allegations of violence, sexual offences, drug supply, fraud, and money laundering.
Kevin has acted in some of Wales’s most widely reported criminal trials. He was instructed in the landmark case of R v Dawson (Operation Panama), a multi-handed Class A drugs conspiracy that raised significant issues around entrapment and public interest immunity in the Court of Appeal. He also appeared in the high-profile prosecution of several police officers for perverting the course of justice following the collapse of the original Lynette White murder trial.
Kevin is known for his calm, steady approach to complex cases and his ability to gain the confidence of lay clients. Outside court he is Chairman of Penarth Amateur Boxing Club, Council Member British Boxing Board of Control and Chair Disciplinary Panel Welsh Boxing.
Kevin has acted in high-profile cases involving serious allegations against police officers and public bodies. He brings significant insight into the workings of criminal justice institutions, having defended cases involving perjury and misconduct in public office arising from historic miscarriages of justice.
Kevin specialises in defending serious criminal cases, including violent offences, sexual allegations, large-scale drug conspiracies, and financial crime. He is instructed regularly in complex, multi-defendant trials and has appeared in some of the most high-profile and challenging criminal cases in Wales, both at trial and on appeal.
Kevin has experience defending service personnel facing criminal allegations in courts martial proceedings. His measured approach and courtroom skill make him a strong advocate in this specialist jurisdiction, where he combines his criminal law expertise with an understanding of military procedure and the unique pressures facing armed forces personnel.
