Jac Brown has a busy practice prosecuting and defending in a range of criminal and regulatory matters, in the Crown Court and Magistrates’ Court.

Jac is a Level 2 CPS Panel Advocate.

Jac has been instructed to prosecute Crown Court trials involving offences ranging from burglaries and dwelling robberies to drugs offences and violence, including domestic violence and sexual assault.

He regularly defends in the Crown Court and is known for his personable approach with clients. He has been instructed in matters involving domestic violence, false imprisonment, child cruelty, violence, drugs offences and serious sexual offences.

From Ely, Cardiff, Jac studied Politics and Economics before receiving a scholarship for the GDL and completing the Bar Course in London. He worked as a paralegal in a criminal defence and regulatory firm before joining Chambers as a pupil and later as a tenant.

  • R v L – Merthyr Crown Court, 2023. Jac made a successful submission of no case to answer at the close of the prosecution case. His client was employed as a carer and had been charged with offences of child cruelty during the course of her employment.
  • R v SA – Newport Crown Court, 2024. Jac successfully prosecuted a two-week trial which involved allegations of controlling and coercive behaviour and false imprisonment in the context of an arranged marriage. The Defendant was convicted of controlling and coercive behaviour.
  • R v KS – Newport Crown Court, 2024. Jac was instructed as junior counsel for a Defendant in Operation Mayland; a six-week trial involving conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. The Defendant was acquitted at the conclusion of the trial.
