Charles Parsley is an experienced barrister with a diverse practice spanning Chancery, Professional Regulatory and Common Law. He is known for his thorough preparation, sound advice, and longstanding expertise in matters involving real property, trusts and probate, and inheritance. His work also includes defamation and commercial disputes.
Charles has particular strength in cases involving compulsory purchase and planning.
In addition to his Chancery practice, Charles has a wealth of experience in private and public family law. Formerly, he was a panel junior for the Official Solicitor in private law children cases and developed a strong family practice.
Charles has also sat for many years as a Legal Assessor to the Nursing and Midwifery Council, building on his expertise in professional discipline and regulatory law.
Charles has a broad Chancery practice, with a focus on real property, probate, and trusts. He is also experienced in commercial litigation and defamation. He has regularly advised public bodies in complex planning and compulsory purchase matters.
Charles has considerable experience in Professional Regulatory work, including fitness to practise and disciplinary matters. He has sat for many years as a legal assessor for the Nursing and Midwifery Council (and formerly for the UKCC).
Charles accepts instructions in co-ownership and TLATA disputes (where he is known for his clear, measured advocacy in sensitive and contested cases) as well as Schedule 1 claims. His Chancery background gives him particular insight into cases involving property ownership, trusts and inheritance issues. He is valued for his calm, analytical approach and practical advice in emotionally charged financial proceedings.
