Practice Overview

After obtaining a degree in law from Leeds University in 1978, Peter Harding-Roberts studied drama at Bretton Hall College near Wakefield with a view to pursuing a career as an actor. However he came back down to earth in 1981 when he was called to the Bar.

From 1986 to 2001 he practised as a criminal solicitor, and from 1991 until his return to the Bar in 2001 was a partner in the criminal law firm of Spiro Grech and Harding Roberts, where latterly he conducted that firm's Crown Court criminal advocacy.

He joined Thirty Park Place from Temple Chambers (where he had been Head of the Criminal Team) in 2009.

Throughout his career Peter has largely specialised in criminal defence work but he does now both prosecute and defend. He is a Grade 4 prosecutor.

He has a wide range of experience of criminal cases, embracing murder, attempted murder, the full range of sexual offences, and offences of violence and dishonesty.

His style and professional approach is marked by his ability to put lay clients at their ease and have a relaxed relationship with them.
