Practice Overview

Jane’s enviable practice has resulted in instructions from solicitors across England and Wales and cases on all circuits.Her practice includes cases involving complex physical injuries in children and she is known for the ease with which she disentangles associated complicated medical issues. She has been involved in some early cases in which the legitimacy of statistical evidence to be applied to SIDS was challenged.

Some of her private law children work includes relocation, also an area in which she has particular interest.

Jane has experience in “honour based” killing/violence and forced marriage and has had recent involvement in a lengthy case in which her client was also represented by a Special Advocate because of non disclosure of sensitive material. She also has a growing practice in relation to child abduction cases.

Jane is recognised for having considerable skill in representing learning disabled or otherwise vulnerable parents and parents with mental health difficulties. She appeared in the first two cases in which evidence has been given with the assistance of intermediaries.

Jane has represented Rhonda Cynon Taff in the Clwych Enquiry convened by the Children’s Commissioner for Wales and subsequently undertook advisory work for the Commissioner.
